La Grande MotteThe current territory of the town was extracted from the commune of Mauguio in December 1974; at this time the land was not very welcoming, zone of marshes. From the Sixties, it was created from nothing, the seaside resorts, with new buildings, harbour equipment, with an aim of attracting tourism which at the time was more directed to Spanish destinations.
At the time of this urban intervention, buildings created by the architect Jean Balladur, evoke the pre-colombians pyramids. |
